Authorities were notified of the alleged abuse by the Department of Children and Families who had received information that Morgan V. Frawley, 25 was having inappropriate relations with a 15 year old boy. Although police believe that there was a sexual relationship between Frawley and the alleged victim, more investigation is needed to charge her with further crimes. Frawley had been working as a youth adviser with the Congregational Church of New Canaan for a less than two years at the time of her arrest.
The church minister has expressed sorrow over the incident, stating that “Our prayers are really with the alleged victim in this case and their family”. It is unclear at the time whether or not the church had required a background screening for its employees and volunteers.
