From the beginning, SSCI identified abundant deficiencies in the traditional methods utilized to screen volunteers. These deficiencies fell significantly short of the due diligent employment screening practices which placed all volunteer dependent organizations and their members at serious risk! Aggressively addressing the need to upgrade background screening for volunteers, SSCI has become the leading professionals providing training, education and consultation in all matters relating to volunteer background checks.
SSCI partners with volunteer driven organizations in every state to provide the consultation and assistance they need to implement a comprehensive, due diligent Background Screening Program. Our national partners and loyal clients selected SSCI in part due to our service commitment to provide the most cost effective and user friendly program.
SSCI is the background screening provider for Operation TLC² Making Communities Safe. The parks and recreation background screening initiative has effectively set the standard for the national volunteer workforce. It is very important to understand that this standard includes the use of multiple sources of criminal record information and would never accept the less expensive, less comprehensive database only criminal record search. Additionally, this background screening standard has been adopted and implemented by over 2,000 city and county agencies and countless youth sports organizations.
National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI) is a private, woman-owned social enterprise with dedication and commitment to our community, our clients and the people they serve. NCSI employs talented, committed professionals with industry expertise and specialized training and degrees in legal/paralegal, client services, information technology, business services, insurance, and risk management.
The mission of NCSI, formed in partnership with the National Council of Youth Sports (NCYS), is "to serve as our country's premiere resource in an overall effort to eradicate harm and loss in organizations and communities across the globe through increased awareness and training, the creation and implementation of national standards and the integration of fully-managed risk management programs, inclusive of background screening."
NCSI has one goal – to protect vulnerable populations. Our children and seniors, young athletes, those with disabilities and others who trust you can’t always protect themselves from predators. With our help, you can protect them.
Organizations that serve these individuals need to have protocol and systems in place to prevent harm and protect their participants. NCSI works with you in every aspect of developing, executing and maintaining a full-circle protective approach. Through our NCSI 360™, we formulate programs that help organizations gain visibility to potential threats to make more informed decisions about the people who represent their organization.
