Implementation Steps - Options
STEP #1: Contact Southeastern Security Consultants (SSCI) 866-996-7412 to secure your quote for the individual comprehensive national criminal background check purchase the program and set up the account.
Your contact at SSCI is Chris Goodman, 866-996-7412; CGoodman@ssci2000.com Chris will provide you with an electronic copy of the National Recommended Screening and Criminal Background Check Policy, a copy of the Background Screening consent form and set up your account. To further ease the administrative burden, you simply estimate the number of people you plan to take through the program for the year multiplied by the agreed upon rate per person and place an open PO on file with SSCI for that amount. Each time you submit a consent form to SSCI they will deduct the month’s activity and send an invoice using the PO number.
Step # 2: Adopt the National Recommended Screening and Criminal Background Check Policy.
This policy has been reviewed and approved by over 200 city and county attorneys and should have no problem passing the litmus test when you run it by your attorney. The policy lists the recommended disqualifiers however; it is up to you to select the disqualifiers that you want to enforce. It is your policy so you can adjust it at anytime. A signed consent form is required from each person authorizing the background check to be conducted. We recommend that each person be notified what your disqualifiers are in advance. This may motivate them to self-eliminate knowing that that there is something in their past that will prevent them from being approved. This will also save the cost of the background check and ID badge for that person. Upon receiving the consent form, SSCI will provide you with a complete profile on each person including charges, court dispositions, and sentencing in 2-5 business days so you can promptly make your decisions. If a person fails to qualify based on the disqualifiers you choose, the Fair Credit Reporting Act requires that you provide the person with a copy of the background check profile. If they want to contest the findings, you simply provide them with the toll free telephone number to SSCI and they will handle the dispute for you.
Step #3: Request the list of preferred providers standing ready to meet your Photo ID badge needs.
