church stealing

Office manager Stephanie Hicks of the Pleasant View Lutheran Church in Indianapolis was arrested for using the church’s credit card for her personal expenses.

An employee of the church since 2000, Hicks reportedly began taking money from the church in January of 2011. According to accusations, Hicks used the company credit card for unauthorized purchases and would then pay the balance using the business checking account. The charges against her include one count of theft and two counts of forgery, both felonies.

Hicks also reportedly forged the church treasurer’s signature on two checks in 2012. In addition to using the business credit card for personal expenses and purchases, Hicks is accused of also transferring the church’s money directly into her personal checking account in addition to her payroll deposits.
